Bolton College is building a future talent pool of experienced Carpentry & Joinery professionals to support temporary and agency-based teaching opportunities through Bolton Talent Solutions, the College’s internal staffing agency. This opportunity is ideal for skilled trades professionals looking for flexible teaching work, whether you are already teaching or considering a move into education.
You will support learners studying Carpentry & Joinery by delivering engaging, practical sessions that develop their technical skills, industry knowledge, and employability, preparing them for careers in the construction sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging Carpentry & Joinery teaching in both workshop and classroom settings
- Support learners to develop practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge
- Plan and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
- Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate teaching, assessment, and progress records
- Promote safe working practices and positive learner behaviours
About the Learners
- Students studying Carpentry & Joinery within Construction programmes
- A mix of full-time FE learners and apprentices
- Focus on hands-on learning, health & safety, and employability skills
- Structured, supportive workshop-based environment
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery
- Relevant industry experience within Carpentry & Joinery
- FE or apprenticeship teaching experience (desirable, not essential)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to high-quality teaching and learner progression
