Position Overview: MPS T1 - T9 (£32,916 – £51,048). Plus TLR 2B (£5,869). Permanent 1.0 FTE. First day: 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Science, Maths and Technology departments to promote a love of learning across STEM subjects.
  • Plan and teach fantastic lessons that promote a love of science from KS3 to KS4.
  • Develop, in collaboration with the Science department, a curriculum that inspires a love of Science from Year 7 through to Year 11.
  • Design, implement and manage an academy STEM programme.
  • Contribute to the whole school development plan with a remit of improving outcomes and engagement in STEM subjects, with a particular focus on science.
  • Communicate effectively with parents around STEM opportunities both within the academy and outside, with a view to driving STEM engagement.
  • Plan and lead on educational visits for pupils of all abilities to experience opportunities in STEM across a range of fields.
  • Work with the academy CEAIG officer to ensure that pupils are kept informed of developments in the STEM field.
  • In collaboration with, and under the remit of the Head of Science, co‑coordinate and promote STEM across the academy, and support the enhanced transition programme with primary pupils.
