Bolton School is seeking to appoint a Senior Playcare Worker for Kidzone, our after school and holiday club. The role is multi-functional working in both the office and with the children in the club. It includes liaising with staff and parents to ensure that all children and families receive the highest calibre of childcare and professional practice. The role supports the Kidzone Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering outstanding childcare, playing a key role in creating a warm, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. The successful candidate will also act as Deputy when required and lead on SEND provision as the designated SEND Coordinator. The role is working 16 hours per week all year round. Throughout term time the hours are worked either during breakfast club between 7.00am and 9.00am or after school club from 2:30pm until 6.00pm, usually over four days (days are negotiable). During the weeks when the School Holiday Club is running the 16 hours will be worked on a shift basis between 7.15am until 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, days and hours are negotiable. Additional hours as overtime are available during the school holidays.

The following are essential for the role:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in childcare
  • Experience of providing childcare for children aged 3 to 11
  • The ability to plan and organise relevant activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to meet the SEND needs of primary age children
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents
  • An understanding of the EYFS and welfare requirements
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of supervising a team
  • A commitment to equality and diversity and an understanding of Safeguarding

Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential. An attractive salary and benefits package are available.
