Band 2 Health Care Assistant

Surgery Division – Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit at Bolton is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The Surgery Division encompasses emergency and elective surgeries across specialties including general surgery, breast, ENT, urology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and rheumatology. This division covers theatres and the Critical Care Unit, providing a diverse range of services focused on safe and effective patient care.

Successful candidates will deliver direct patient care to critically ill patients, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The Critical Care Unit is an 18-bed facility caring for Level 2 and Level 3 patients from various specialties. The role involves long shifts with internal rotation to night duty.

New staff will have a supernumerary induction period, supported by multidisciplinary team members including medical staff, outreach, physiotherapy, and dietetics. Each shift is supervised by a Band 7 team leader, ensuring support and effective decision-making. Our dedicated practice educator for Critical Care will assist new staff with competencies and skills training.
