Bolton Hospice’s consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, but we also consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too, whilst supporting families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a strong and motivated leader across all hospice services. The Service Lead role has a broad and diverse remit to lead the nursing team in clinical practice to provide safe, quality, patient-focused care to clients and drive forward the highest standards of palliative care service provision. This post will appeal to an individual with the ability to deliver in all aspects of clinical care and staff management, across the diverse hospice services, including the Inpatient Unit, Well Being Hub Service and Hospice at Home, whilst providing support to the Head of Clinical Services.
Salary: £47,810 per annum (unsocial hours enhancements are paid in addition to basic salary)
Full Time: 37.5hrs/ 5 days per week

The Role: The Service Lead will monitor and maintain the professional standards required through leadership and management of hospice services, creating a supportive and unified team, whose prime purpose is to provide safe, effective care to those who need it, across all hospice services. The post holder will take a key role in the Clinical Governance processes including the review, development and implementation of policies and evidence-based practice required for the safe, efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the hospice services and will work closely with the Head of Clinical Services and Service Leads across the organisation to ensure multi-professional collaborative working.
What you need: We are looking for a Registered Nurse with relevant experience working at a senior level within palliative care. The successful candidate will need to be driven by quality improvement and have the qualities of a motivational leader to continuously improve the standard of care and ensure governance structures are embedded throughout, whilst working in collaboration with other clinical managers, senior management team and colleagues to develop services and to facilitate and lead change across the service to meet the needs of the local population. The successful candidate will have leadership management training/qualification as well as holding an Enhanced/Advanced Communications Skills qualification and ideally have experience of working in a hospice environment. It is essential that the post holder is able to travel independently, to attend meetings off-site when required, and fulfil the completion of support across the community service delivery within Hospice at Home.
