Overview

25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

9.10am – 3.00pm includes half hour lunch and a 20 minute break

An opportunity has arisen within our successful and highly skilled team for a teaching assistant to join our school. At Turton our children are fiercely loyal, and so we are looking for someone who is just as committed to them.

Turton is an oversubscribed and high-achieving 11-18 school of 1600 students, with 300 in the Sixth Form. We are an innovative Leadership Team, looking at creative and exciting approaches to teaching and learning, in order to engage and challenge both staff and students. Responsibilities

Our Learning Support department is looking for suitably motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join a large team of friendly Teaching Assistants. The Learning Support Department engages with a range of students with additional needs, including communication and interaction, cognition and learning, SEMH, sensory and physical difficulties. Duties will include:

  • Supporting in mainstream lessons
  • Working with pupils in small groups or 1 to 1 sessions
  • Progressing pupil learning both educationally and personally
  • Encouraging engagement in lessons whilst promoting inclusion and holistic development

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Location: Bromley Cross (rural suburbs of Bolton)
