Teaching Assistant Level 2 SEND Support and Intervention TA2 grade 31 hours + 15 hours SEND allowance, Term Time+5 Actual Salary Grade D scp 6-11 £18,735 - £20,287 per annum plus SEN allowance. Temporary Position as the current post holder is taking on another post within school until 31st August 2026; could become permanent.

The Governors at Heathfield Primary School would like to appoint an experienced and highly motivated teaching assistant/ SEND Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Heathfield family. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in the primary phase and in a range of Special Educational Needs and who will demonstrate their passion for our mission statement Learning Together, Learning for Life.

The successful candidate will be supporting child/ren in our Year 3 class in the morning and providing interventions during the afternoon. The successful candidate will:

  • Love working with children
  • Be motivated, have a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge
  • Establish good working relationships with children, acting as a role model
  • Experience of promoting effective communication and language
  • Experience of working with children with an ASD diagnosis
  • Experience of working with children with Social and Emotional needs
  • Have experience of delivering a highly adapted, bespoke learning curriculum delivered in small chunks using multi-sensory methods
  • Have experience of supporting children to record their learning in a variety of ways
  • Experience of delivering speech, language and communication and/or willing to undergo training
  • Have experience in supporting to develop expressive language skills through the use of modelling, repetition, simple phrasing, visual supports
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality learning
  • Have experience working and/or qualifications within the area of SEND
  • Work well with other staff and agencies

The successful applicant will join the KS2 team and will contribute to the high standard of teaching and learning at Heathfield. Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.
