St. Catherine’s CE Primary School wish to appoint a patient and highly motivated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs to work in our school.
Your role will involve you taking on small group work, as well as supporting whole classes. In general, you will be supporting SEN pupils through the academic, social and emotional elements of school life. You will be expected to promote and secure high standards of teaching and learning, whilst supporting pupil achievement and progression. You will need to actively contribute to St. Catherine’s vision and aims.
This is a role which involves working very closely with Special Educational Needs pupils to enable them to take the fullest advantage of all that takes place at St. Catherine’s CE Primary School. You will take a proactive role in ensuring that pupils have full access to the curriculum, working closely with teachers and other supporting professionals to identify and meet pupil needs.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES WOULD BE:
- To work with and supervise individuals and groups of students under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, supporting target setting for students and enabling access to learning for all students.
- Assisting in managing students’ sometimes significant and challenging behaviour through the use of a range of strategies and techniques.
