Position: School Business Manager

Status: 37 hours Term Time plus 4 weeks

Salary: Grade H point 27 – 31 £38,220 – £41,771 per annum pro-rata

Actual Salary: £35,249 – £38,524 per annum

The Governing Body of St Matthew’s Primary School Bolton are seeking to appoint a suitable candidate to the post of Business Manager, to work in their successful 2 form entry, multicultural school.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated, skilled and inspirational Business Manager who has the desire and drive to work at St Matthews C of E Primary School. The Governors are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Business Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to make their mark.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the strategic vision and leadership of the School Budget, Finance, Premises, Risk Management, Health and Safety, Human Resources and other support services. To also manage the Office support staff, the Site team and the lunchtime ladies.

The successful applicant will need to:

  • Be a forward thinker in technology and digitisation who can streamline administrative systems, think creatively and problem solve.
  • Have proven experience in a business or finance role, ideally in a school or education setting.
  • Be professional, personal and have the social skills to communicate clearly and sensitively, establishing and sustaining good relationships with Parents, Pupils, Staff, Governors, the Local Authority and External Agencies.
  • Be able to work calmly under pressure and be able to organise own workload while directing colleagues according to school priorities.
  • Enjoy working within a school environment in a vibrant and diverse community.
  • Have a great sense of humour and be able to work well as a team player.
  • Hold the CSBM/DSBM or NVQ Level 4 Business Degree or equivalent related professional qualification or the willingness to work towards the qualification alongside the role.
