The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a friendly and customer-focussed Security team, playing a crucial role in the safety and security of Bolton Council’s elected members, employees and the general public.
As a Casual Security Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our Council meetings, held in four of our historic Town Halls. These meetings typically take place in the evenings, anytime from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. You’ll be responsible for securing our facilities, keeping staff and visitors safe, and conducting regular patrols to make sure everything is in order.
You’ll have access to a Council vehicle during your shifts, so you can easily travel between Civic Buildings and locations.

About You
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be passionate about providing a helpful and customer-focussed service. You will enjoy working as part of a team and be able to keep accurate records for the purposes of incident investigations.
We are seeking individuals with previous experience in a security role, an SIA licence and possession of a full and valid driving licence in order to undertake this role
Working alongside our in-house Security team, you will possess excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies. Casual positions offer flexible hours, allowing individuals to work according to their availability whilst providing essential support to our operations.

Due to the nature of the role, all applicants must be physically fit enough to carry out aspects of the job such as lifting/carrying/standing for lengthy periods.
