Overview
The Governors at Heathfield Primary School would like to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Heathfield family working in a two year old provision. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in the Early Years phase and who will demonstrate their passion for our mission statement Learning Together, Learning for Life. The successful candidate will be supporting children in our First Steps, Two Year Old provision.
Requirements
- An approved Early Years level 2 qualification (See DfE criteria)
- At least a level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Hold or be prepared to receive Paediatric First Aid training
Responsibilities
- Love working with children
- Be motivated, have a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge
- Establish good working relationships with children, acting as a role model
- Excellent, inclusive practice including effective communication and language and questioning
- Understanding of how to extend children's learning through effective and purposeful continuous provision, both indoors and outdoors
- A proven track record of success and improving children’s outcomes
- Secure subject knowledge of the Early Years handbook and expectations
- Accurate self-reflection, responding positively to feedback
- Ability to plan and assess effectively
- High expectations of achievement and behaviour, including supporting children’s self-regulation
- Experience of delivering speech, language and communication and/or willing to undergo training
- Demonstrate commitment to quality learning
- Work well with other staff and agencies
