The Role

Are you an exceptional organiser with a natural curiosity, strong initiative and a passion for supporting senior leaders? We’re looking for a proactive and highly efficient Personal Assistant (PA) to join Bolton Council’s established Executive Support Team. This is more than just an administrative role. As a key part of the Council’s leadership support structure, you’ll provide high level, confidential and strategic executive assistance to our Chief Officers. Your work will directly enable the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and Directorate Leadership Teams (DLTs) to deliver their priorities and drive forward the Council’s strategic aims.

About the Role

In this fast paced and varied position, you will provide comprehensive executive support to Chief Officers, including strategic diary management, email handling and prioritisation of key tasks. You will act as a trust first point of contact for the Chief Officers, including arranging high level internal and external meetings, administering for these meetings on request. As a member of the Executive Support Team, you will have the opportunity to produce high-quality briefing notes, presentations and reports to inform strategic decision making and work collaboratively across the Executive Support function, providing cover and cross-team support when needed. This brings an exciting opportunity to support the Council and residents of Bolton at a strategic level. You’ll be joining an experienced, supportive, and solutions focused team who take pride in helping the Council’s leadership operate effectively.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can operate confidently at a senior level and who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. You will be highly organised, with excellent planning and time-management skills. Successful candidates will be proactive and naturally curious, anticipating needs and seeking information that supports effective decision making. You will be a strong communicator, technically confident in Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and SharePoint. You will also bring experience in supporting senior officers, maintaining electronic filing systems and producing professional reports and presentations.
