We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance Team and support the effective financial management of the College. This is a key role responsible for producing high-quality financial reporting, supporting budget holders and senior managers, and contributing to robust financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making across the organisation.
Ideally, you will have:
- GCSE English and Maths qualifications or equivalent.
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) which includes the experience required by the professional body and not only the completion of the exams.
- Experience of preparation of financial statements in line with accounting standards.
- Experience of production of management accounts together with variance analysis.
- Experience of computer-based systems.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of annual and longer-term budgets and financial forecasts, both capital and revenue, as required internally or externally to the College by various funding bodies, for the College as a whole and individual budget holder.
- Preparation of quarterly Latest Expected Outturns (LEOs), including engagement with budget holders to review performance, challenge forecasts and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Production of timely monthly budget reports for budget holders and liaison therewith on budgetary and financial control matters.
- Preparation of financial information for additional funding bids and financial monitoring of accepted bids through to completion and collation of appropriate information having regards to correct accounting treatment.
As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and will therefore be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
