Bolton College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Lecturer with industry/subject specialist knowledge to deliver high quality teaching and learning within our Carpentry & Joinery provision.

Location: Bolton (Greater Manchester).

Salary: £31,200 - £34,715 per year, with potential to increase up to £43,656 per annum plus a £2,500 Golden Hello Payment (T&c).

Contract type: Permanent, full-time.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications
  • Experience in the delivery of Carpentry & Joinery programmes
  • Experience of assessing students at Levels 2 & 3 in Carpentry & Joinery
  • Knowledge of the apprenticeship standards and experience in preparing Carpentry apprentices for end‑point assessment

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality and inclusive teaching and learning on one or more courses.
  • Support the Head of Department on curriculum and course development.
  • Take part and comply with all quality assurance procedures and systems within the area of responsibility.
  • Develop resources, support teaching programmes and deliver on a number of courses as required.
  • Support the achievement of annual targets for learner numbers, income, expenditure and success rates.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, requiring an enhanced DBS check.
