Transition and Progression Advisor – SEND

We are looking for an experienced SEND specialist who is a motivated self-starter who puts the learner at the heart of everything they do. You will be committed to inclusion and to supporting a very diverse group of learners to achieve their potential and realise their dreams.


Ideally, you will have:



  • Minimum Level 4 qualification in SEND or relevant discipline

  • PGCE or equivalent

  • English and Maths Grade 4-9 (or equivalent)

  • Commitment to role related CPD

  • Experience of successful teaching in Further Education

  • Experience of contributing to the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process for any learner who has a newly acquired or previously unidentified need.


Day-to-day you will be responsible for:



  • Assessing Learner needs and planning robust transition activity to fully prepare learners for study at Bolton College.

  • You will work with the Head of Departments and the Head of Learning Support to ensure college compliance.

  • You will help to provide staff development to college staff regarding Disability Awareness.

  • Provide advice and guidance to teaching staff regarding learners on your caseload.


As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and will therefore be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
