Bolton College is seeking an ambitious, creative, and enthusiastic Lecturer in Catering to join our Catering and Hospitality team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support through high‑quality, inclusive teaching and learning across a range of vocational and academic programs including community and adult courses from beginners to Level 2.

Ideally, you will hold:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / L5 DET) or willingness to achieve
  • Possess a Level 3 qualification (or above) in Patisserie, Professional Cookery, or related subject
  • Have experience producing a range of cakes, pastries, and desserts
  • Have skills in buttercream, fondant, piping, and basic pastry
  • Experience or ability to teach learners up to Level 3

Day‑to‑day you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high‑quality, inclusive teaching and learning across a range of cake baking and decoration programmes
  • Contributing to curriculum planning, course development, and enrichment activities
  • Supporting students in developing technical skills, creative confidence, and professional portfolios
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain high standards of quality assurance and learner success
  • Helping learners achieve their full potential while promoting progression to higher education or employment in the creative industries.

As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
