Audit & Compliance Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual who is confident working with data, internal teams, and external auditors. The ideal candidate will be proactive in ensuring compliance with funding regulations, data protection laws, and audit requirements, while also identifying opportunities for improvement. This role requires someone who can confidently conduct internal audits, support with PDSATS and ILR processes, and contribute to the development of a culture of compliance across the college. As part of a dynamic and dedicated MIS team, the successful applicant will play a vital role in helping the college maintain excellence in data integrity and regulatory adherence.

Ideally, you will:

• Hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths & English
• Have experience of data compliance requirements, ideally within a further education setting.
• Have experience with data integrity checks and ensuring regulatory compliance in reporting.
• Have a strong understanding of funding regulations (ESFA, GMCA)
• Have the ability to interpret and apply complex funding rules to real-world scenarios.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with funding regulations, and data protection (e.g., ESFA, GMCA, GDPR).
• Evaluate and test the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management procedures in all areas of college operations.
• Assess compliance with funding rules and other regulations, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare audit reports, providing clear documentation of findings, recommendations, and improvement strategies
• Develop and deliver training sessions to staff on compliance best practices, regulatory requirements, and audit preparation.
• Implement process improvements to address compliance issues, reduce risks, and streamline audit preparation processes.
