Why This Role Matters
The People Advisor plays a key part in delivering excellent HR services across the business. You'll provide practical advice and hands-on support on people matters, helping managers navigate complex issues while ensuring our policies, culture and values stay strong and inclusive. You'll support our People Plan, help drive cultural change, and work closely with teams to resolve issues and improve our employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice and casework support on absence, grievance, disciplinary, performance, family leave, and workforce planning
- Attend and support formal hearings as an HR panel member
- Manage HR data accurately, support payroll processes, and provide key people metrics and EDI reporting
- Deliver wellbeing support to staff and help embed a culture of inclusion and care
- Support job evaluation and policy reviews
- Play an active role in supporting our cultural transformation, continuous improvement, and value-for-money service delivery
What You'll Bring
- Strong HR generalist experience in a fast-paced, people-focused organisation
- Confident knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and policy application
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you're approachable, honest and fair
- Experience managing sensitive issues with professionalism and empathy
- A proactive approach to inclusion, wellbeing and modernising HR practices
- CIPD Level 5 (or working toward it) is desirable
- Experience working in a unionised setting and an understanding of the housing sector would be a bonus—but what matters most is your ability to build trust, deliver results, and live our values:
