Role: Fitter Location: Telford Hours: 06:00 - 14:00 OR 14:00 - 22:00 Salary: Up to £32,500 per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist precision engineering business supplying components and electro-mechanical assemblies to the semiconductor and mass spectrometry sectors. Working within the Machine Shop, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, finishing and modification of precision mechanical components to meet exact engineering specifications and quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing high-quality finished products and enjoys working in a precision manufacturing environment. Duties of a Fitter: * Deburr, drill, tap, polish and finish precision-machined components to engineering specifications * Prepare sealing faces and carry out surface finishing processes including orbital sanding, grit blasting and vapour blasting * Inspect components using precision measuring equipment, ensuring compliance with drawings, tolerances and quality standards * Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions * Identify and report defects, non-conformances and quality concerns * Safely operate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment * Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment * Support continuous improvement while adhering to company quality, health & safety and environmental procedures What you need to apply: * Previous experience within a mechanical fitting, engineering or manufacturing environment * Experience with deburring, drilling, tapping and mechanical finishing processes * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications * Competent using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment * Understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality standards * Strong attention to detail with a quality-first approach * Ability to work independently and as part of a team By applying for this position, you confirm that you have read and understood our Data Privacy Statement and give Bolt Technical authorisation to hold your provided data.
