We are looking for a Head of Store Operations (Grocery & Retail) to help scale Bolt’s rapidly growing business in London, UK.
About us: With over 200 million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability. Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!
About the role: As a Head of Store Operations (Grocery & Retail), you will sit at the heart of our marketplace, owning the end-to-end operational strategy that powers merchant excellence and shaping how we deliver service as a core pillar of Bolt’s Customer Value Proposition. You will drive global strategies for merchant enablement while building robust playbooks, governance frameworks, and scalable processes that ensure we consistently meet and exceed global operational KPIs.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Define and drive a "best-in-class" strategy that sets the gold standard for store operations across every market we touch.
- Take total ownership of the journey—from the moment a merchant signs to the day they become a power user—stripping away friction and boosting execution.
- Turn "how we work" into a competitive advantage by creating the frameworks and KPIs that ensure high-quality delivery at massive scale.
- Lead a rigorous, data-driven culture where insights aren’t just numbers—they are the catalysts for better retention and merchant growth.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to build the tools of the future, ensuring our workflows are as fast and reliable as the technology behind them.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture where accountability, ownership, and constant evolution are the norms.
About you: You have heavy-hitting operations experience across diverse geographies and complex markets. You don't just follow trends; you build simple, elegant processes from the ground up and obsess over that "1% improvement" every single day. You can zoom out to set a 3-year vision and zoom in to fix a granular workflow. You know that strategy without execution is just a daydream. You have a "data-first" mindset, using evidence to navigate ambiguity and turn complex hurdles into clear pathways forward. You are a seasoned leader who wins over stakeholders through expertise and commitment, while empowering your team to reach their full potential. You thrive in fast-paced environments (ideally in Grocery, 3P, or Retail) and possess a relentless ownership mindset that gets things done.
Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!
Why you’ll love it here:
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
