Location: Cheltenham, Cirencester and Surrounding

Hours: Monday to Friday (with on call rota 1 in 4)

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE

Bolt Technical are recruiting exclusively for our client for an exciting opportunity as a Traffic Signal Engineer to join a leading organisation within the Traffic Engineering Sector. Working within a collaborative technical team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, deploying and supporting traffic signaling systems. This role offers full training and provides an excellent opportunity for candidates with a technical or engineering background looking to develop within a specialist industry.

Duties of a Traffic Signal Engineer:

  • Design, test and validate signaling schemes using specialist software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as required
  • Attend sites to oversee implementation and ensure successful delivery
  • Monitor and manage live installations to ensure optimum performance
  • Remotely monitor operational sites using CCTV systems
  • Develop and implement timing plans
  • Configure, monitor and optimise signal timings following deployment
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call support rota – 1 in 4 weeks

What you need to apply for the Traffic Signal Engineer role:

  • Previous traffic signaling experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Previous experience within a technical, engineering, field service or installation environment
  • Strong technical aptitude with a willingness to learn new systems and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good IT and software proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel to deployment sites.
