Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30

About the Opportunity: An established engineering company is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join its growing team in Harlow. This is a hands-on role within a busy industrial workshop environment, focused on the repair, maintenance, and rebuild of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment. The position would suit an experienced engineer with strong leadership skills who enjoys managing workloads, supporting engineers, and maintaining high workshop standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate workshop engineers and daily workshop activities
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team
- Manage jobs through the workshop, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Organise, review, and complete workshop documentation and job sheets
- Strip, repair, rebuild, and test industrial motors, pumps, gearboxes, fan units, and rotating equipment
- Carry out fault diagnosis and identify failed components accurately
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Support continuous improvement within workshop operations
- Work closely with management and customers when required
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience working with industrial pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
- Strong electro-mechanical background with fault-finding capabilities
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring engineers within a workshop environment
- Ability to read drawings, identify components, and carry out mechanical assembly and repair work
- Experience working on freshwater, sewage, hot and cold water pump systems
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude
