About the Opportunity
Bolt Technical are recruiting for a Quality Systems Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business operating within a highly regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving the company’s Business Management System (BMS). You will work closely with the Quality Manager and wider teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, drive continuous improvement, and enhance overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Business Management System (BMS)
- Ensure compliance with quality standards including AS9100 and ISO 9001
- Manage and maintain quality documentation, procedures, and records with full version control
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits, and support external audit activities
- Drive process improvements across the business to enhance efficiency and compliance
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA)
- Support implementation of quality metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards
- Work with cross-functional teams to embed best practices in quality and process control
- Assist with non-conformance management and product quality investigations
- Support customer and supplier quality interactions
- Prepare reports on audit outcomes, system performance, and quality metrics
- Support management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
What They’re Looking For
- Experience within a quality, manufacturing, or engineering environment (2-3+ years)
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Knowledge of standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 beneficial)
- Experience with auditing, CAPA, and root cause analysis methodologies (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys)
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles
- Analytical and data-driven approach to problem solving
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
