A growing UK manufacturing business specialising in electrical and automation solutions for industrial applications is looking for a Production Engineer to support manufacturing operations, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement activity within a fast-paced engineering environment. This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery from concept through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production engineering across manufacturing operations
  • Assist with new product introduction (NPI) and production readiness
  • Produce accurate technical documentation (BOMs, production packs, data)
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
  • Support design for manufacture (DFM) and engineering change processes
  • Work with quality teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Contribute to SQCDP meetings and performance tracking
  • Support efficiency, capacity planning, and delivery targets
  • Maintain accurate engineering data and documentation systems
  • Support and mentor junior team members where required

What We're Looking For:

  • Background in electrical/electronic engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in production engineering, design support, or similar role
  • Understanding of electrical systems, control panels, or automation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Desirable: CAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN), lean manufacturing exposure
