Location: Leicester, LE19 (on-site at manufacturing facility + international travel)
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + annual bonus
Hours: Full-time
- Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30
- Friday: 08:00-13:30
Travel: International travel required 10-12 times per year, ranging from short European trips to longer overseas assignments (up to 4-5 weeks maximum).
Bolt Technical are working with a highly specialised machine manufacturer operating at the forefront of energy, advanced technology, and industrial engineering. Their bespoke machinery supports globally significant projects in areas such as renewable energy, fusion technology, medical imaging, and advanced research environments. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join a small, expert engineering team. This role offers a rare opportunity to work on custom-built, technically complex machinery with real-world impact on future energy and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning
- Carry out in-house pre-commissioning in line with customer contract requirements
- Install and commission specialist machinery at customer sites worldwide
- Ensure equipment performs to specification and contractual standards
- Prepare technical documentation including inspection records, test plans, test reports, site reports, and manuals
- Conduct customer demonstrations and acceptance testing
- Train customer personnel on machine operation and applications
- Install, update, and support control software
- Undertake industrial electrical wiring
- Liaise with customers and respond effectively to technical requests
- Work across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Support dismantling of finished machines prior to shipment
- Learn and implement applications across all machine types and material variants
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure machines meet specification
- Input into production planning and schedules to support on-time delivery
- Plan and coordinate international travel arrangements
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience in on-site machine installation and commissioning
- Strong background in industrial or special-purpose machinery
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering systems
- Experience with control software installation or updates
- Quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
- Confident working directly with customers in an international environment
- Comfortable with global travel and extended overseas assignments
- Able to work independently while contributing to a small specialist team
