SMT Field Service Engineer

Location: Midlands (ideal location: Swindon to Manchester corridor)

Salary: £36,000 OTE £40-42k

About the Role

Bolt Technical are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of advanced electronics production equipment. Working across customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of sophisticated manufacturing equipment, whilst delivering exceptional customer support. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and maintain specialist production equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, software, and network-related faults
  • Deliver technical support and customer training
  • Complete service reports and documentation
  • Travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including regular overnight stays

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within SMT, PCB assembly, electronics manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Background in service engineering, maintenance, or process engineering
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Good IT literacy and basic networking knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays
