An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing technical business specialising in advanced electronics manufacturing equipment. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge production and inspection systems, including x-ray technology, supporting customers across the UK with installations, servicing, maintenance and technical support. Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring customers maximise the performance and reliability of their equipment while delivering an exceptional level of service.
Duties of a Customer Support Engineer:
- Install and commission specialist production and x-ray inspection equipment at customer sites
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and software faults
- Provide operator training and technical guidance to customers
- Support customer production through process and application advice
- Carry out equipment demonstrations and customer trials where required
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate CRM records
- Build strong relationships with customers through professional on-site support
- Travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays and visits to Ireland
What we would like from you:
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Customer Support Engineer
- Experience working on electronics manufacturing equipment, SMT equipment, automation or precision machinery is highly desirable
- Experience working on x-ray systems, including medical x-ray equipment, will also be considered as the role involves supporting industrial x-ray inspection equipment
- Strong fault-finding ability across electrical, mechanical and software systems
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Professional, motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience using CRM systems and completing service documentation
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays

- Salary: £35,000 - £42,000
