About the Role
Bolt Technical are supporting a growing UK-based electrical manufacturing business that designs and builds industrial electrical systems and control solutions used across a wide range of manufacturing and production environments, supporting customers in both light and heavy engineering sectors. They are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a skilled engineering team, improve processes, and drive performance across design and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong influence over engineering strategy, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Oversee design of electrical control systems and automation equipment
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Manage engineering change control (ECN/ECO) and technical documentation
- Support production through BOM creation and labour estimating
- Deliver engineering projects on time, cost, and quality targets
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and commercial teams
What We're Looking For
- Engineering leadership experience in electrical manufacturing
- Strong understanding of control panels, electrical systems, or automation
- Experience with engineering change processes and structured workflows
- Ability to lead teams and drive performance improvements
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Desirable: CAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN), Lean experience, ERP/MRP exposure
