At Bolster Community, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life filled with dignity, respect, compassion and connection.
We exist because life can be difficult, and nobody should have to face those challenges alone. From birth to end of life, we work alongside individuals, families and communities, providing practical and emotional support that helps people overcome barriers, build resilience and thrive.
Every family faces challenges at different points in their lives. Sometimes all that's needed is the right support, at the right time, to prevent those challenges from becoming crises.
As a Family Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in helping children, young people and families access practical and emotional support that strengthens their confidence, resilience and wellbeing. Working as part of Bolster Community's Family Support Team, you will contribute to the coordination and delivery of the Newry Family Support Hub, helping families connect with the service or organisation best placed to meet their needs.
Through one-to-one family support, evidence-based parenting programmes and youth resilience initiatives, you will help families build on their strengths, develop practical coping strategies and improve their ability to navigate life's challenges. Our approach is rooted in early intervention and prevention, recognising that timely support can make a lasting difference to family outcomes.
This role is about working alongside families, not doing things for them. Success means empowering parents, carers and young people to feel more confident, capable and connected, so that over time they need less support from services and feel better equipped to manage independently.
At its heart, this role is about helping families move from challenge to confidence, ensuring they feel heard, supported and able to thrive within their own communities.
