Boleyn Recovery & Fleet Services Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to take on a new role looking after our Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) HGV testing facility and Tacho Centre. This is a supervisory role where you will lead HGV MOT preparations, pre-MOT quality control and tacho installs and repairs, ensuring our 100% first-time pass rate is maintained. You will also be responsible for liaising with DVSA and our internal bookings team to ensure the smooth running of the testing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise & Manage the ATF Testing Facility – Ensure the efficient operation of our HGV testing facility.
- Vehicle Inspections & Pre-MOT Preparation – Inspect, diagnose, and prepare vehicles to meet DVSA test standards.
- Maintain 100% First-Time Pass Rate – Oversee quality control and ensure high testing standards.
- Liaise with ATF Admin & DVSA – Manage communications with the admin team and DVSA testers for test scheduling and compliance.
- Tachograph Installations – Carry out and oversee the installation of tachographs as required (training provided).
- Ensure Compliance & Safety – Keep up to date with industry regulations and ensure all work meets legal and operational standards.
- Oversee Workshop Operations – Manage workload, prioritise tasks, and ensure a smooth workflow.
- Qualified HGV Mechanic (Level 3 or equivalent) with experience in vehicle inspections and MOT preparation.
- Strong Leadership & Supervisory Skills – Experience in managing a team or workshop environment.
- Excellent Knowledge of DVSA Testing Standards and ATF procedures.
- Tachograph Installation Experience (training provided).
- Organisational & Communication Skills – Ability to coordinate testing schedules and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
- Hands‑On Approach & Inspections – Willingness to be involved in mechanical work while overseeing the ATF.
