About The Role
The IP Engineer is accountable for the design, implementation of the architecture supporting Boldyn’s cloud platform. This multi-vendor platform is compliant with the Neutral Host In-Building technical specifications defined by the UK mobile network operators.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work under the guidance of the Platform IP Architect to support the continuous design, development and expansion of Boldyn’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement IP connectivity to support lab testing, inter-operability testing and integration of the final production infrastructure.
  • Design and implementation of the midhaul network.
  • Design and implementation of the CaaS cloud backbone.
  • Capacity monitoring and expansion as required.
  • Network change control.
  • Enforcement of security processes, procedures, policies and protocols for network management.
  • Engagement with the MNOs on design goals, security criteria and change management.
  • Documentation of all work completed to a high standard supporting network management and troubleshooting.
  • On-call support for third-line escalation when needed.
  • Continuing Professional Development – particularly IP Networking certification from key vendors.
  • Work with vendors to understand and document future roadmaps.
  • Support colleagues on the commercial team with bids and tenders as appropriate
  • Support Operations colleagues during the handover process.
  • Explore, assess and share relevant knowledge on new and emerging technologies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent in Engineering with three to five years postgraduate experience
  • Recognised IP networking certification from a recognised provider, e.g. CCNA, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or similar
  • An understanding of technologies above and below in the stack; e.g. facilities (e.g. power), fibre, optical networks, applications, systems gained through a proven track record in network architecture
  • An understanding of network management, automation, reporting tools
  • Proven consulting skills and experience of working in large complex environments delivering Infrastructure Transformation/Network programmes
