The purpose of this role is to support the delivery team to manage the technical execution of testing the neutral host infrastructure within the Transport for London Underground environment. The role will interface between internal engineering, build and commercial teams, testing suppliers, TFL and the end customer to address issues and solve problems as they arise within the post-integration testing process. Within the role, the focus on delivery will be key to meet programme timelines, while embracing a focus on continuous improvement and identifying and implementing efficient ways of working.
What You'll Be Doing
- Ensure safety and quality management are given the highest priority in delivering the work schedule to achieve right first-time delivery.
- Work with the Commissioning Manager to provide technical leadership and oversee the NHDAS systems are tested in accordance to Boldyn Network's test plans.
- Work with the Engineering Test & Assurance Manager to validate that the test equipment and test plans are appropriate and will collect data to meet contractual requirements.
- Conduct analysis of the test report data collection/report generation software/hardware platform and identify areas where the ease of testing and programmatic generation of test reports can be improved.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to generate post-integration test reports for the Commissioning Manager to have peer reviewed and issued.
- Identify areas of non-conformance during testing and escalate within the process for review to identify potential design changes.
- Promote a "Right First Time" approach and be part of a culture that embraces a focus on continuous improvement.
- Support the team with initiatives in process improvement and improved ways of working.
- Report and account for "work in progress" in terms of planned work on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Report and account for status of unplanned or delayed work.
- Demonstrate the competencies and communication required to collaborate with multiple functions to support program targets.
- Demonstrate competencies around supplier management and monitoring in terms of delivery, H&S and quality.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience of leading a testing programme, approach, delivery and outputs to demonstrate our due diligence and commitment to deliver to the required standards.
- Demonstrated experience conducting root-cause analyses to identify and solve performance or optimisation related issues.
- Analytical and detail oriented, problem-solving skills with experience of analysing and interpreting technical procedures.
- Demonstrate evidence of managing and driving best approach to testing practice, actively seeks out latest approaches and open to new ideas.
- Review all test strategy documentation from an execution perspective and ensure they are achievable.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Expert understanding of Mobile Networks Infrastructure, such as 5G FR1 NSA/SA, FR2 and LTE Architecture.
- Knowledge of the following systems: Electromagnetic interference (EMI), Structured cabling testing, Optical fibre testing, Wireless Network Architecture.
- Strong understanding of Mobile Network Operators or Telecoms vendors.
- Knowledge of Joint Operator Technical Specification (JOTS).
- Pathway or GRIP process experience.
