The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
The role will provide technical and onsite deployment expertise to our team and partners in relation to the deployment of fibre (in the London Underground), London Underground 4G/5G deployment, ESN and construction of equipment rooms across the TfL underground estate. Providing clear onsite assurance and health and safety direction- upholding the strict H&S code of conduct on the London Underground. This role is a nightshift-based build manager during the TfL LUL engineering hours. Supporting the deployment plan achieving key milestones by ensuring the build is on track, built to design and the build meets TfL CAT1 standards. In partnership with our key suppliers, ensure adherence to all regulatory and construction standards required by our client and ensure that safe working practices are at the forefront of our operations every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- To provide technical expertise on all aspects of the build and construction plan including associated relevant activities in line with CDM regulations and ensure that those working in all locations also comply.
- To establish an excellent working relationship and provide support and management to our key supplier and their team to ensure construction work complies with Boldyn Networks design, drawings, engineering standards, codes and specification and that we deliver the programme based upon customer requirements and the commitments made.
Health & Safety
- Stop any works and actions that are considered dangerous- record and report these.
- Record any near miss incidents.
- Suggest improvements to H&S culture and way of working to ensure a best-in-class approach and action plan to health and safety.
Build Works
- Ensure works onsite are built as per the agreed and approved design.
- Build cabinet and HRN locations as per design SG3 sign off documentation.
- Ensure all build works meet TfL CAT1 standards.
- Support with progressive assurance through the build cycle.
- Check cabinets and HRNs through life cycle of build to ensure they are correctly installed.
Build Assurance and Monitoring Site Works
- Monitor installation works on site.
- Keep record of time allocated to the job and time spent completing activities.
- Recording team arrival and readiness to work- maximising efficiency onsite.
- Recording nightly process of works.
- Recording time shift closed and engineers leave site.
- Discuss with TfL station staff opportunity to extend BoH working and extra shifts (weekends).
- Make deployment decisions onsite and provide solutions where required so works can continue in real time and on the same night.
Continuous Improvement
- Provide suggestions on how to improve efficiency of build, such as better tooling, prestaging of site etc.
- Provide solutions to any build issues onsite to allow works to continue.
- Record all snagging works during build and ensure these are shared and rectified prior to NOWRI.
- Nightly reports to be sent at the end of the shift.
- Any escalations are to be reported to Boldyn Senior Management at the end of the shift so these can be discussed the next day.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience in TfL estate, engineering standards and health and safety requirements. London Underground onsite experience and knowledge with field based contractors.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
- Managing Key Supplier and working collaboratively within a matrix structure.
- Delivering large scale projects on time and to budget.
- Able to analyse, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations and translate into a deployment plan.
- Knowledge of H&S Regulations; Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
- Excellent at building and maintaining an excellent working relationships.
- Knowledge of TfL Standards and Health and Safety Requirements.
