A BOLDSCIENCE Account Director (AD) is a client service powerhouse with a wealth of experience in the Medical Communications industry. They manage large accounts and work across various deliverables, ensuring that BOLD clients receive the highest quality standard. This includes client management, project & financial management, organic growth, and scientific knowledge.

An AD quickly becomes a trusted partner to their clients, offering the highest level of strategic guidance and counsel. They lead by example, prioritising collaboration and people management, and take pride in developing and upskilling their team.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Management
    • Develops strong working relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction is maintained.
    • Demonstrates a strong scientific understanding of the client’s business and therapeutic areas.
    • Provides onsite support for initiatives where required.
    • Drives client strategy, oversees projects, and helps solve business issues as they arise.
    • Provides strategic guidance to the team for successful project execution.
    • Supports in developing and implementing client strategies in partnership with the scientific lead.
    • Has a good understanding of competitor activity and market context.
    • Works with senior leaders to ensure appropriate strategic, creative, and digital planning.
  • Project Management
    • Effectively drives projects and directs tasks to the team.
    • Has a robust understanding of internal processes, workflows, and resourcing.
    • Reviews content and provides sign-off on work partnering with the scientific lead.
    • Holds regular team meetings to ensure clarity on actions.
    • Takes responsibility for financial planning, revenue forecasting, WIP reporting, and timely invoicing.
    • Delivers projects within clients’ financials and timelines.
    • Builds strong relationships with the Finance team, providing accurate information when needed.
  • Business Development
    • Drives organic growth across accounts and identifies opportunities.
    • Supports senior team members on new pitches and attends presentations when required.
    • Generates ideas & proposals for new projects.
  • People Management
    • Manages direct reports effectively by providing constructive feedback.
    • Mentors junior-level team members and adopts a coaching approach.
    • Directs, delegates, and oversees activities of junior colleagues.
    • Develops and mentors mid-level staff to instill best practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in the Medical Communications industry.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, leading projects in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Worked across multiple small accounts with competing priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills and confidence with account financials.
  • People-focused approach with experience managing teams.
  • High level of scientific knowledge and thorough understanding of pharma regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in science, pharmacology, or medicine.
