We are looking for a Commercial/Domestic Gas Service Engineer to join our team. The role covers commercial and domestic gas maintenance and repair across Scotland’s most iconic sites, involving mechanical and electrical work and remote troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of gas and combustion equipment on customer sites.
- Respond to customer callouts, including participation in an out‑of‑hours rota after relevant training.
- Evaluate and resolve technical problems on‑site and remotely alongside Boiler and Valve colleagues and/or site contacts.
- Fault find, diagnose and repair gas equipment.
- Install, commission and service combustion and gas equipment.
- Test and monitor equipment performance.
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on industrial steam plants when required.
- Provide customers with regular reports, completion of relevant paperwork, and maintain relationships.
- Offer upgrade and energy‑saving options as part of after‑sales activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and development.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent (HNC or above).
- Current ACS commercial and/or domestic gas qualifications.
- Strong background in an engineering environment.
- Field‑based engineering experience, ideally in a customer‑facing role.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills with dedication to performance and efficiency.
- Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions and use initiative.
- Capable of working accurately at speed under pressure with a wide‑ranging remit.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, including conveying technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Full and valid UK driving licence.
