It is experienced in the removal and disposal of transformers and PCB oils up to 50 parts per million, working with specialist third-party asbestos contractors when asbestos is identified. Boiler & Plant Dismantlers Ltd also manages the carriage of compressed gas and hazardous waste, including high-pressure cylinders such as CO2, Inergen gas, and FM200, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Role Description
The Site Decommissioning Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for overseeing decommissioning, dismantling, and removal activities at client sites. This position leads site teams in safely dismantling and removing industrial plant, coordinating tasks such as tank cleaning, cutting, and equipment handling, while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. The supervisor plans daily work schedules, allocates resources, and monitors progress, resolving operational issues and communicating with project managers and clients on timelines and site conditions. The role includes ensuring safe handling and transport of hazardous materials, overseeing contractors involved in specialist tasks such as asbestos removal, maintaining accurate site documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong site supervision and leadership skills, including team coordination, task allocation, and on-site decision-making.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Competence in risk assessment, method statements, and safe systems of work for activities such as cutting, lifting, and removal.
- Strong communication skills for reporting, documentation, and interaction with clients, site staff, and management.
- Relevant certifications such as CSCS or equivalent, SSSTS and safety training.
- Experience operating or supervising use of plant and equipment (e.g., lifting gear, cutting tools), with appropriate licenses where required.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
