ARCHIVE PRODUCER — BOHEMIA Films
We’re looking for an exceptional Archive Producer to join us over the next 8 months, working flexibly on a feature-length arts film for a major broadcaster.
At Bohemia, we pride ourselves on finding the material other people haven’t found — the rare, forgotten, unseen and unexpected footage that can completely change the way a story is told. So we’re looking for someone who loves the hunt. Someone who knows where the obvious archive ends and the interesting stuff begins. Someone prepared to dig through collections, regional news, international sources, private holdings and obscure corners of the archive world to uncover those extraordinary pieces of film that nobody knew were there. You’ll be responsible for the research, sourcing, clearance and delivery of archive across the film, with plenty of scope to shape the story through what you discover.
- An experienced archive producer/AP with strong television credits
- Someone with a genuine obsession for finding difficult-to-find material
- Excellent research instincts and the ability to follow a lead wherever it goes
- Strong knowledge of archive libraries, broadcasters and rights/clearance processes
- Someone who can work independently but thrives as part of a creative production team
- A good eye for the unexpected visual discovery, not just the material that comes up on the first search
Bonus, but absolutely not essential: if you can also shoot second camera, we’d love to know.
** NB this role will largely be remote for the first 4 months, then a mixture of remote and in person at our London edit suite for the remaining time. The initial prep period may involve a few ad hoc days at our Suffolk base (travel costs covered where necessary) **
