Our client, a respected engineering and design consultancy based near Farringdon, is looking for a reliable and capable Reception / Admin Assistant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to support busy engineering teams with a wide range of administrative tasks β ideal for someone who thrives in a support role and enjoys being the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly.
About the Role
You will act as a key support for small engineering teams based on one of the office floors, taking on a wide mix of secretarial and admin responsibilities. From managing electronic correspondence to booking meetings, typing reports, supporting site visits, and helping out on reception β no two days will be the same.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the teamβs shared email inbox
- Organising diaries, meetings and reviews
- Typing letters and reports, formatting documents, and manipulating PDFs
- Filing and archiving correspondence (paper and digital)
- Looking after stationery, the team diary, camera and toolbox for site visits
- Answering phones and taking messages
- Supporting with project questionnaires and tender submissions
- Keeping track of group contacts and arranging PPE for site visits
- Watering plants and organising refreshments for guest meetings
- Daily cover for the main reception desk
- Taking overflow external phone calls from reception
- General admin support and occasional cover on other floors
About You
Weβre looking for someone with previous admin experience, ideally in a design or engineering office, who brings:
- A confident, professional manner and a can-do attitude
- Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Flexibility and willingness to muck in where needed
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and manipulating PDFs
- Friendly and calm under pressure
This role is based in the office full-time, Monday to Friday. It is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, so would suit someone looking for a long-term home where they can grow and evolve with the role.
