About the Role

We are seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to oversee and optimise the commercial vessel operations of a tanker fleet. This strategic role is responsible for ensuring efficient voyage planning, cost optimisation, and compliance, while maintaining strong internal and external relationships. This is a full-time, office-based position working from the central London office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor Vessel Managers, ensuring effective voyage planning and execution.
  • Liaise with the Chartering Department to align vessel operations with future voyage requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
  • Ensure Vessel Managers are updated on operational guidelines, charter party terms, and regulations.
  • Oversee record-keeping and vessel management software compliance.

About You

  • Solid office-based or sea-based management of vessels
  • Strong knowledge of tanker operations, charter party terms, and world scale terms.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to balance costs and operational needs.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with shipping systems (such as DANAOS) an advantage.
  • Strategic mindset, able to guide teams and make effective cost/time decisions.
  • Backgrounds likely to be a Vessel Operator, Vessel Operations Manager, or an Engineer.
