Overview
The Assistant Management Accountant (PPTD) is responsible for the preparation of accurate reporting of monthly financial data for the PPTD Business Unit as part of the DBUK entity, and for preparing and coordinating information for budgets and forecasts. The role provides a range of finance and administrative tasks to support the Management Accountant (PPTD) and the wider PPTD operation. It requires strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business and a focus on continuous improvement initiatives, liaising with external stakeholders as required.
Key Responsibilities
Financial reporting and Control
- Implement the requirements of the PPTD Business Unit reporting timetable to ensure activities are completed within set timelines, including:
- Preparation and completion of month end reporting schedules to the DBUK Finance team
- Monthly Microsoft Dynamics requirements such as GL/period close, posting journals, reviewing entries and running monthly reports as part of the month end process for submission to the Management Accountant (PPTD)
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure only current items remain, with follow up and resolution with the relevant team
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly Balance sheet and Barclaycard reconciliations for review by the Management Accountant (PPTD)
- Responsible for managing ad-hoc invoicing as required (Alpha, Vector etc)
- Responsible for intercompany recharges as required (IoD etc)
- Responsible for preparing DBUK sanction request forms for review by the Management Accountant (PPTD)
- Be a key liaison with the DBUK finance team on any external audit matters
- Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the PPTD Finance Function
Accounts Payable / Purchasing
- Input invoices, arrange funding and run payments for the PPTD Operation
- Resolve any outstanding invoice queries
- Responsible for vendor onboarding and maintaining customer and vendor masterdata in Microsoft Dynamics
- Responsible for raising purchase orders in SAP
Business Planning And Performance Reporting
- Support the Management Accountant (PPTD) and PPTD cost centre managers in the preparation of forecasts and yearly budgets in OneStream, including cashflows in line with Group deadlines
- Support the Management Accountant (PPTD) in preparation of management reports (Flash, Performance reports, etc.)
Qualifications
- Part/qualification in accounting will be advantageous
- Experience in a finance-based environment supporting non-finance Managers
- Microsoft Dynamics and SAP experience highly desirable
- Excel skills and sound working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software
- Able to produce accurate schedules for internal and external departmental reporting
- Desire to simplify, change and improve processes
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, flexible, able to work to tight deadlines within a team environment
