Let me take you through a typical day of a Driver at Boels in Manchester - Piccadilly. In the morning, you start at 0730hrs and the transport planning is already done. Together with your colleagues, you load all the plant equipment and small tools into the vans and you take your coffee to-go because you need to deliver the equipment straight to the client. You are on your way and you may encounter traffic, so you call your colleague at the branch to pass this information on to the customer.
Once you arrive at a site, an impatient contractor may approach you. As a Driver, you know how to solve issues and how to keep the contractor on-side. This allows you to quickly unload and move on to the next job. When you are at one of the sites, you advise on the use of the machines, carefully check their technical condition and ensure that the administration is done correctly. Your eye for detail is really important here!
At the end of the rental period, you collect all the equipment from the customer and bring it back to the Manchester - Piccadilly branch. This enables the mechanics to clean and check the gear so we can make the next customer happy again! It can sometimes be hard physical work as a Driver, but this is what you like to do. You roll up your sleeves and get stuck in! Sometimes your colleagues at the counter might need help. You jump in and help them, without thinking twice. One goal, one team!
For this job, you finish around 5 o'clock every day (of course, there are exceptions). This means you have plenty of time to be with your family, play sports or hang out with friends. Sounds good, right?
The orange Boels team in which you will be working in Manchester - Piccadilly consists of various different functions. You will all work collaboratively to ensure that hired equipment is delivered to the customer at the correct location.
