Boeing Defence United Kingdom (BDUK) is looking for a Digital Focal Product Support Analyst to support new business opportunities and existing product platforms principally within the Rotary Wing Enterprise (RWE) Group.

This role would be based at Frimley and Yeovil on a hybrid basis.

BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1400 people in the UK.

We are responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including new capabilities like the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft Autonomous Systems C4ISR Services Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets Logistic Information Services and Training Services and are very much in a growth phase.

The BDUK Engineering function operates a matrix organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills expertise and products into our programmes.

This role will be in the Product Support Engineering Department.

As a RWE Digital Focal Product Support Analyst you will call upon your Data Exploitation experience to support and review fleet data from a variety of data sources and systems.

Working within the Data Exploitation team (DE Team) you will drive and help shape our digital data exploitation services to optimise aircraft availability and deliver products and services with a safety first mind-set.

This post will fall under the direct supervision of the Data Exploitation Team Lead and report to the responsible BDUK Product Support Manager.

Operating as part of a fully integrated Product Support department the successful candidate will receive additional support from additional/other capability specialists within the wider Engineering function.

Responsibilities

  • Extract data from various source platforms interpret the raw data in to usable and presentable data tables for use and analytical activity by the DE Team and other capabilities within the business.
  • Provide analytical capability to transform information and data providing insight to support DE decision making.
  • Collaborating with other Engineering disciplines and the other Senior Stakeholders to ensure consistency of working methods and activities across all projects.
  • Coordinate monitor establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and report status of DE activities.
  • Assist in the assessing of additional/new DE toolsets.
  • Prepare and maintain DE dashboards and prepare reports to meet all contract deliverable KPI’s.

In addition to your technical work scope there is an expectation that the post will support wider organisational objectives in relation to promoting a Safety Culture promoting and enabling a diverse and inclusive culture mentoring and coaching STEM outreach and a number of focus projects to support the growth of the company and its employees.

  • Preferred Skills Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential to be able to obtain UK SC security clearance.
  • Prior experience within the aviation or defence industry essential.
  • High level of skill in the deployment of Data Exploitation methodologies and underpinning analysis.
  • A clear communicator with a can-do attitude who has the drive commitment and passion to continuously improve the quality of service.
  • Understanding of the relationships between DE and R&M Design Dependability Safety ILS & Asset Management.
  • Knowledge and awareness of risk & reliability management systems and techniques.
  • Proven ability to drive first time quality.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite in particular MS Word and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
  • Engineering Degree qualified minimum Technical Education HNC/HND and or received formal training in Support Engineering principles.
