General Engineering Bay Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Deliver off‑wing support to aircraft maintenance under Boeing’s MAA MRP Part 145 approval or under the MOD customer approval.
  • Provide supervision to the General Engineering Bay team within Boeing’s Part 145 at Wattisham.
  • Manage technical work requirements, sequence tasks, and control demanding workloads while maintaining high quality and schedule.
  • Deliver advice, guidance and mentoring to peers and other staff.
  • Exercise, or work under appropriate supervision for the role to mitigate immediate risks, including stop‑work decisions and escalation of emerging risks, issues and shortfalls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement workshops and projects as required.
  • Exercise 100% oversight of work carried out by Boeing apprentices or trainees and provide apprenticeship/trainee mentoring.
  • Support an open and honest reporting culture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience

  • Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or trade training equivalent.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes applicable to the aviation environment (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH).
  • Experience in either commercial or defence contexts.
  • Experience with sheet metal and/or structural repairs.
  • Experience using milling equipment and lathe.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, displaying behaviours that support equity, diversity and inclusion.

Work Authorisation

This is a locally hired position in the United Kingdom. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the UK. Boeing will not seek immigration sponsorship.

Security Clearance

This role requires the ability to obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC); UK residency is required. All information will be verified.
