This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel. The main responsibilities include:
- Fabricating and maintaining the instrumentation system, including installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
- Sensor types primarily include Strain Gages and Accelerometers, with other types including Thermocouples, RTDs, Pressure Transducers, etc.
- Coordinating with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, locating, surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, handling hazardous materials such as solvents and cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
- Wire fabrication, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, sealing.
- Troubleshooting electrical circuits and wiring.
Accessibility may require working for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or supported by overhead support systems. Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes are required.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Designing systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
- Participating in test design and performing routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems.
- Supporting the coordination of test requirements and assisting in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
- Facilitating systems integration, fabrication and modification; supporting system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
- Conducting routine tests, analysing data and documenting results.
- Troubleshooting and recommending resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Associate's Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience.
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes.
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
Pay Rate Range:
Min Pay Rate: 25.98 USD hourly
Max Pay Rate: 30.65 USD hourly
