The Boeing Company is looking for Test and Evaluation Flight Operations Mechanics to join our team in Berkeley, MO. Flight Operations Mechanics will provide the opportunity to work with our Test and Evaluation team serving as a key component to our military jet production success. This Flight Operations Mechanic role encompasses the following: Inspector Aircraft, Mechanic Electrical and Electronics, and Mechanic Flight.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Installation of test equipment to the aircraft assemblies which includes: install and maintain hydraulic systems, bonding of test equipment, tear down, modification, and disassembly of the aircraft and test assembly.
  • Fabricate parts such as skins, doors, aircraft frames, air bags, test panels, clips, brackets, angles and ribs without the aid of jigs and fixtures.
  • Operating powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts; also, bridge and floor mounted cranes.
  • Aircraft towing and utilization of bomb loaders and similar equipment.
  • Repair, install and hook up bomb, missile and rocket racks and pylons.
  • Modify/Repair aircraft components or aircraft support equipment.
  • Support environmental and electromagnetics testing operations.
  • Install adjust, repair and replace structural parts and assemblies.
  • Diagnose and correct hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Perform structural inspections per engineering instruction.
  • Support Test system hydraulics.
  • Perform composite repairs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Flight Line Maintenance, Manufacturing or Assembly.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Test Operations and Flight Test Engineering Operations.
  • Currently hold an FAA Airframe (A) or an FAA Powerplant (P) license.
  • Experience working on military aircraft.

Union: This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM 837) Collective Bargaining agreement.

Shift: This role could be for 1st or 3rd shift; however, the selected candidate must be able to work any shift to support program objectives.

Additional Information: New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed, all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of employment. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period or other requirements per the CBA.

The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $24.15/hour - $37.15/hour to start, with potential to earn up to max rate of $46.69.
