The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer - Developer to join the Phantom Works Autonomy & Mission Planning team located in St. Louis, Missouri. This position supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. Phantom Works is an R&D organization responsible for innovative visual modeling, simulation, prototyping, and developing new markets. We seek software engineers for autonomous systems development.
The ideal candidate enjoys collaborative work, is committed to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and can handle complex problems with ingenuity. Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies are essential. This position is 100% onsite at one of the listed locations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout its lifecycle, meeting industry, safety, and regulation standards.
- Translate customer requirements into software designs.
- Lead junior engineers in software development.
- Develop use cases and perform software architecture trade studies.
- Develop interface definitions and perform testing.
- Participate in peer reviews, system and flight testing, and create documentation.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required):
- Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance.
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- 2+ years experience with C++, Python, and/or Java.
- Real-time software development experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- Experience with autonomy, robotics, Agile, simulation, CI practices, and tools like JIRA, GIT, Jenkins.
- U.S. Security Clearance.
