Boeing has a long-standing presence in Scotland at RAF Lossiemouth, home to the UK\’s P-8 Poseidon and future E-7 Wedgetail fleet. Over 200 personnel maintain the aircraft and train crews, and two major infrastructure projects with the local supply chain have been completed to support these aircraft. The Royal Air Force’s fleet of P-8A Poseidons secures the seas around the UK and abroad, conducting maritime patrols, anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, surveillance, and long-range search and rescue.

The Fixed wing Operations team is a diverse and exciting environment based in RAF Lossiemouth. Boeing Defence UK deliver a fixed wing maintenance solution to the MOD, providing skills and qualified personnel to maintain aircraft, and support onsite activity.

BDUK has an exciting opportunity to fill this permanent position, and we are looking for a Maintenance controller to join the Maintenance support team. Based out of RAF Lossiemouth, working shifts, this opportunity will see successful candidates become part of a highly dedicated, committed team delivering maintenance in a very dynamic environment. The position of Maintenance Controller is key within our fixed wing Operations team in Lossiemouth delivering the ASP contract on the P8-A aircraft, and a vital part of our P145 approval and delivery KPI.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate supporting functions and lead team meetings communicating help needed and reporting out to leadership.
  • Manage outside supporting agencies to support aircraft maintenance.
  • Communicate and update internal and external stake holders of aircraft status.
  • Manage and drive delivery of the daily maintenance schedule.
  • Make key decisions concerning aircraft maintenance.

Qualifications/Experience:

Required

  • Line or Base maintenance experience
  • P8 Type course (or equivalent experience)
  • Must have the ability to gain co-ordination authorisations in accordance with the T&A manual
  • Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent and proven communication skills across all areas of business
  • Knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles, MAA Regulatory Publications Part 145, BDUK MRP MOE, Aviation QA, and SMS processes.

Desirable

  • 12 months of experience working on a military platform.
  • Aircraft maintenance experience ideally on fixed wing narrow body aircraft (737 Commercial or 737 Military Commercial Derivative)
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Resource and maintenance planning knowledge
