Job Overview

Boeing Global Services IT is currently looking for an IT Business Partner (ITBP) to join their team in Bristol, UK. This position focuses on supporting multiple programs and campaigns by partnering across business, functions, and IT. The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leaders, supporting their day‑to‑day execution of current contracts by delivering Enterprise Digital Solutions. The ITBP proactively serves as a "trusted advisor" and is the primary IT point of contact for business leaders. The role supports active campaigns, optimises IT costs, and ensures solutions are secure and compliant. Working closely with Global IT, End‑User Services, InfoSec, etc., the ITBP helps prioritise statements of work and ensures delivery to the business on time with first‑time quality.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key liaison between the business or function to understand priorities and needs, developing strategies to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Collaborates directly with business or function to understand problems or initiatives and represents the business or function within IT to engage the right resources, explores alternatives and helps deploy the right solution.
  • Develops and executes communication plans, including status to leadership and to business or function stakeholders.
  • Identifies risks and impacts and coordinates with business or function to approve mitigation plans or changes to commitments.
  • Provides input and lessons learned on IT processes, procedures, tools and techniques, and ensures alignment to quality management solutions for the business or function.

  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business processes and industry trends. Ability to translate business needs into IT requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience managing relationships with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement IT strategies that support business objectives. Experience in change management and driving digital transformation initiatives.
  • Project and Portfolio Management: Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile/SAFe, Waterfall).
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and emerging technologies. Ability to evaluate technology solutions and their impact on business.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities. Experience with data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Negotiation and Influence: Ability to negotiate with vendors and internal stakeholders. Skilled in influencing without direct authority.
  • Business Partnering: Proven experience as an IT Business Partner or similar role. 8 to 10 years of working closely with business units to deliver IT‑enabled business outcomes.
  • Change Management: Leading or supporting organisational change initiatives.
  • Project Delivery: Successful delivery of IT projects that meet business requirements. Experience managing budgets and resources.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Working effectively with diverse teams.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks related to IT projects and business operations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Extensive IT experience.
  • Defence sector experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of MOD maintenance, equipment, engineering and supply‑chain processes, and relevant standards/compliance (MOD O/S, DEFSTAN/JSP, ITAR, EAR).

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Relocation

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
