Capability Owner – GoldEsp MRO
Location: Middle Wallop, England, United Kingdom
Role Overview
The Capability Owner – Gold MRO is responsible for the functional ownership, strategic direction and operational delivery of the GOLDesp MRO capability and SAP MRO interfaces across Boeing Defence UK (BDUK). This position combines deep technical MRO system expertise with leadership responsibilities: guiding projects and stakeholders, driving governance and change, advocating digital transformation and continuous improvement across multiple platforms and sites, championing digital transformation in maintenance & modifications, and ensuring system use, governance and outputs meet regulatory, safety and business needs across multiple aircraft platforms and sites.
Key Accountabilities
- Own the functional capability of GOLDesp MRO across BDUK: implementation, support, configuration, data integrity, reporting and training.
- Act as Product/Capability Owner for GOLDesp MRO and as a primary operations advisor for SAP S/4HANA ERP interfaces and MRO data.
- Define and maintain governance, change control and assurance processes for the MRO toolset; lead the Change Control Board for system changes.
- Ensure system roles, privileges, workflows and functionality meet regulatory (MRP Pt 145 / MAOS / CAMO) and Quality & Safety requirements and map to documented processes.
- Lead and coordinate Conference Room Pilots (CRPs), Production Readiness Reviews and regression testing for upgrades and releases.
- Use SQL/TOAD (Oracle/PLSQL) to manage, validate and correct data in training and production environments; develop bespoke reports and extracts as required.
- Provide timely Level 1 support, root cause analysis, and escalations to Level 2 (US core team) when required; retain ownership of desktop instructions and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Data Analytics, Integrated Logistics Support, IT and Operations stakeholders to prioritise enhancements, interfaces and capability improvements that enable OneBoeing Production System (OneBPS) and CI objectives.
- Support Part 145 Office activities including updates to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and provide input to safety and quality investigations as needed.
- Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships (operations, IT, safety, quality, supply chain, programmes and external vendor teams); represent BDUK at cross-company forums regarding MRO capability.
- Drive continuous improvement through data exploitation, CI events and process standardisation across sites and platforms.
Role Responsibilities
- GOLDesp MRO Implementation – Plan and deliver GOLDesp MRO implementations for new business units, contracts and users; demonstrate capabilities to senior stakeholders; estimate resources.
- GOLDesp MRO Support & Development – Provide day‑to‑day Level 1 support, user assistance and continuous development of GOLDesp to meet business needs.
- Database Administration & Reporting (Oracle/PLSQL/TOAD) – Maintain and update MRO‑related datasets, perform bulk data loads, create bespoke SQL reports and BOXI/BI extracts, and resolve database‑level faults that cannot be addressed via the application GUI.
- SAP Interface Monitoring & Testing – Monitor, test and validate SAP S/4HANA interfaces with GOLDesp and other third‑party systems; resolve interface errors where possible.
- Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement – Lead the Change Control Board; ensure alignment of system functionality to regulatory and MOE requirements; support Part 145 Office deliverables.
- Strategic MRO Capability Leadership – Develop and maintain the multi‑year capability roadmap for GOLDesp MRO and SAP integrations; align priorities with business strategy and regulatory needs.

Preferred Business / Technical Competencies
- Proven product/functional ownership for MRO systems – GOLDesp experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in ERP (SAP S/4HANA) interfaces, integration testing, interface monitoring and transaction reconciliation.
- Familiarity with airworthiness, MAA regulatory framework, MOE maintenance and Part 145 requirements; demonstrable audit experience.
- Project/program leadership including CRPs, Production Readiness Reviews, multi‑site deployments and complex stakeholder management.
- Quality Systems Knowledge: Familiar with inspection, quality procedures and regulatory requirements (MRP Pt 145 / MAOS / CAMO).
- Shop & Operational Processes: Awareness of maintenance processes, FOD/ESD procedures and production vs in‑service differences.
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance processes (fixed & rotary wing) and experience leading scheduled maintenance/modifications in regulated environments.

This role is for a locally hired position in the UK, and candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the UK, along with 5 years consecutive UK residency to date to be considered for the position.
