Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), headquartered in Bristol, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Obsolescence Engineer. The role is based in Bristol and supports a growing portfolio of defence programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Obsolescence Capability Lead in providing Obsolescence Management Services for the BDUK Portfolio, including process generation and plan reassessment.
  • Prepare material for briefings, meetings and formal working groups.
  • Identify obsolescence issues or opportunities early and support mitigation and development plans.
  • Attend internal, supplier and customer meetings as required.
  • Liaise with Systems functions (Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Training) to keep support engineering and obsolescence aligned with wider BDUK developments.
  • Coordinate Support Engineering deliverables (CDRLs) ensuring timely inputs, review and First Time Quality focus.
  • Work with Boeing International obsolescence personnel and the Obsolescence Management Capability Lead.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of Support Engineering, especially obsolescence in a military environment.
  • Experience in Obsolescence Management.
  • Analytical skills to work with Engineering data.
  • Collaboration skills to engage cross‑functional stakeholders for optimisation and supplier engagement.
  • Capability to liaise with OEM platform side of Boeing for integration of UK solutions with base platforms.
  • Track record of driving first‑time quality.
  • Knowledge of international support standards such as Def Stan 00‑600 ASD/AIA S‑Series ILS specifications is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree‑level education in a relevant Engineering discipline (not mandatory).
